This beautiful property overlooks a bend on the Merrimack River, and the only thing that rivals the sunsets is the home itself. Our clients approached us with a vision to completely renovate their backyard, which previously featured an Olympic-sized pool, a concrete pool deck, and hard-to-maintain gardens. Our goal was to create an inviting outdoor living space that maximizes room for entertaining while allowing the homeowners to enjoy their backyard on a daily basis. By incorporating their wish-list and drawing inspiration from the traditional New England Shingle-style home and the client’s summer residence in Florida, our team is bringing to life a playful design that showcases various textures, colors, curves, and focal points. Every feature in this project was custom designed and built by our skilled masons and craftsmen, specializing in masonry and stonework tailored to the client's taste. This project boasts numerous stunning details including a custom-sourced and built travertine and bluestone patio, a 14ft long curved outdoor kitchen complete with a grill, outdoor storage, and a kitchen backsplash, and a custom-built 3-post granite water feature that flows directly off the patio. We also designed landscape lighting to illuminate the space at night, and a 65ft long stone veneered wall that adds depth and retains the hillside. The crown jewel of this hardscape installation is the impressive fireplace, complete with firewood storage boxes and connected sitting benches that are seamlessly integrated into the landscape. With a 4ft wide firebox, this fireplace stands out as one of the largest on the Northshore or in the Merrimack Valley, complementing the overall outdoor living experience.

This property is located in one of the most private settings near a large equestrian center, set far away from it's private road, nestled into a beautiful knoll. The owner had an existing vinyl liner pool in need of much repair. We coordinated with the vinyl pool company with each other's respective services then started building the large expansive concrete paver patio an custom cut bullnose coping around the pool along with granite steps making the required changes in elevation. This yard had complex sloping gradients close to the house and a new accessory shed the owner built that required a knee wall and subsurface channel drainage away from the home and shed's foundations. To round out the custom backyard build we sourced and installed a large flat top stone to serve as a jumping rock for the pool. Several other large landscape boulders were moved into place in the new garden beds and planted with alternating Inkberry shrubs and Karl Foerster Feather Reed Grasses creating a soft backdrop to the custom wooden fencing that was eventually installed.

Classic in appearance, this outdoor living space is a favorite for the New England backdrop where it is located. From it's humble beginning as a pile of rock, we transformed this side and backyard of a large colonial home into a flowing design that begs one to stop and relax around it's custom stone fire pit topped with bluestone coping designed to match the site built fieldstone retaining wall. Moving you from one part of the yard to the other is a custom flowing paver patio and matching walkways that wrap around the house. To keep the firewood clean and dry we built a granite cobblestone rack that is surrounded by a bevy of native shade plants designed to guide the way from the backyard spa area with electric lid with dog run to the front, all adorned by a matching vinyl privacy fence and well spaced arborvitaes.

This beautiful backyard poolscape uses every drop of space to create an outdoor area for living large in the heart of the city. Using Unilock XL slab pavers framed with a charcoal paver border and bullnose coping around the free flowing fiberglass pool it creates a spacious area for entertaining with a wrap around garden bed softens the backdrop. The final design element is the synthetic turf area built to be an easy clean area with zero maintenance in a gated yard for the family pet. Add the table, chairs and outdoor audio system and its the perfect retreat to have your friends over!

At the intersection of Busy Family, new home and young children is this fenced backyard meant for family fun. We took this from a blank slate and created an oasis worthy of any get together from the fiberglass pool, Unilock paver patio, custom cut pool coping, a natural outcropping of stones hand split on-site and installed as a diving rock, this space adorned with landscape lighting, a flag stone walkway, extra large granite landing, beautiful river rock, plantings and freshly installed lawn create a space where the family will never want to leave.

Short on access and frustrated with a previous contractor, this homeowner entrusted us to transform their backyard space from an area of sparse lawn and roots from adjacent shade trees into a functional dining and entertaining space on a budget. Though small but mighty, this is one of our favorites because it made the family so happy having it done just in time for Independence Day!
